Each sculpture is created using photos and sketches of the subject made by myself, the artist. To create the sculpture I begin with a lump of wet clay and begin to sculpt the basic form. I continue to sculpt over a period of many weeks. Each time I finish working on it for the day I wrap it tightly so it dries very slowly. In this way I can work the clay in varying states of hardness, allowing me to refine the form and add detail at each stage. The resulting sculptures are very meaningful to my clients because they save a moment from their lives. The moment was important enough to them that they asked me to devote many hours to recreating it in clay- a media that will long outlive their photo albums. The cost of a sculpture ranges from $100 to $500 and includes a disk of the photos taken for the sculpture study.
